John (Graham) Graham of Kinpont was born in Scotland.
John Graham, born circa 1613, was the son of William Graham (de jure 7th Earl of Menteith, althought he dignity was denied him) 1st Earl of Airth and Agnes Gray.[1]
John, Lord Kinpont, was murdered on the 6 Sep 1644 at Collace, Pethshire, Scotland by James Stewart of Allardice while accompanying James Graham, the Marquise of Montrose, in pursuit of Covenanters. He was interred in the Chapter house of the Priory of Inchmahome in Lake Menteith[11].

James Paul, in "the Scots Peerage" [12] Spells John's title "KINPONT", while Sir William Fraser in "The Red Book of Mentieth" spells it "KILPONT", as does Harris Nicholas, in "History of the Earldoms of Strathern, Monteith, and Airth: with a Report of the Proceedings before the House of Lors on the Claim of Robert Barclay Allardice, Esq. to the Earldom of Airth"[2].
