Thomas was born in 1785. He was the son of Joseph Graves and Francis Coleman. He passed away in 1813.

On 22 January 1813, Thomas Graves fought in the second Battle of Frenchtown at the River Raisin in present-day Michigan. Thomas Graves was killed in action at River Raisin while fighting in the 17th Kentucky Militia.
