Rear Admiral John Graves who married Elizabeth Sawle was his father and his wikitree ref is Graves-65three5, however various keys on my key board are stuck and I am unable to update this information. He was one of my gt.gt.gt.grandfather's younger brothers.

Joseph had four siblings, all dying young and buried in the family vault of Richard Sawle Esq., in St.Thomas Church Exeter, viz:- John Samuel Graves; Carew Sawle Vyvyan Graves; a daughter unmamed and Mary Sawle Graves, a fine portrait of her by John Opie is at the Royal Cornwall Museum and another at Prideaux Place, Padstow.
