Biography

Sarah was born in 1775. She was the daughter of George Gray and Martha Ibbetson. She passed away in 1800.

Marriage in 16 November 1797 to William Levis.

William Levis was a descendant of Samuel and Elizabeth Levis, who had migrated from Harby, Leicester, England, in 1684 and had settled in Springfield Township. He was considerably older than Sarah having been commissioned a second lieutenant in the Sixth Company, Third Battalion, Chester County militia in May of 1777. Sarah Gray Levis died in childbirth, without surviving issue, and was buried 18 June 1800.
