John Gray was born about December 2, 1792 in the hamlet of Kirkhouse, East Farlam, Cumberland, England to unknown parents.
He married Sarah Maria Plura (daughter of John Plura and Frances Delaval) August 21, 1816 in Bath Somerset, England.
