Biography

John Gray was born in 1874. His birth was registered in Carluke. Mother's maiden name was Brown.^[1]

In 1881 John, age 7, was the son of Thomas Gray on Chapel St., Carluke, Lanarkshire.^[2]

In 1891 John, age 17, was the son of Thomas Gray in Chapel Str, Carluke, Lanarkshire. He was a Pupil Teacher.^[3]

John Gray married Jessie Buchanan Foote in 1898. Their marriage was registered in St Andrew (Edinburgh).^[4]

In 1901 John, age 27, was the son of Thomas Gray in Kingscavil Rows No 85-87, Linlithgow, West Lothian. He was a Shale Miner Hewer.^[5] His wife Jessie is not listed.

He died 1943 and was buried in Bloemfontein Memoriam Cemetery, Bloemfontein, Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality, Free State, South Africa;.^[6]
