John N. Green, 61, Ponca City resident, died Dec. 28, 2005, at home. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, in the chapel of the Trout Funeral Home. Interment was in Parker Cemetery in Arkansas City, Kan. Masonic Rites were provided by the Masonic Lodge of Ponca City. John was born on Sept. 7, 1944, in Arkansas City, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George K. Green. He graduated from high school in 1963 from Arkansas City and attended Cowley County Junior College before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. John's Air Force service included a tour of duty in England with additional duties in France and Libya. He later joined the United States Army with tours of duty in the USA, Germany, and Korea, and achieved the rank of staff sergeant. John moved to Ponca City in 1955 form Monett, Mo., where he was a member of the United Liberty Methodist Church in Ponca City. He was employed by CITGO until 2004, when he resigned due to illness. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Ponca City and truly enjoyed the fellowship and friendships of his Masonic Brothers and the opportunity to serve the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his mother, Pearl Green, Ponca City; his son, Troy Green and his wife, Audrey; three grandchildren, Madison, Jarret and Olivia, all of Camerson, Mo. Other survivors include his sister, Nancy Curran, Knoxville, Tenn.; and his brother, Kirby Green, Herdelberg, Germany. He was preceded in death by his father, George Green in 1983.
