Biography

This information for this bio has been provided by my cousin Bonnie Walsh! Adolphus M. GREEN was born in New Ashford, Berkshire Co., Massachusetts on 29 OCT 1793 to parents of English descent. He married about 11 OCT 1816 to Sally RODERICK. She died about 1818. Adolphus married Elethear COLE on 15 MAR 1821. She was born in Kingsbury, Washington Co., NY in 1800. Adolphus and Elethear Green lived in Monroe Co., NY from about 1821 to 1823 and Danville, Steuben Co., NY from 1824 to 1830. By 1831, they resided in Greenwich twp., Huron Co., Ohio. They had about 12-14 children. In 1846, they relocated to Marion twp., Livingston Co., Michigan.

A. M. Green owned 108 acres in the south part of section 19, Marion Township in the 1859 atlas of Livingston County. The Green Cemetery is located on that property. It is about 1 acre in size. A lot of old stones there, some with death dates from the late 1840's. Many are broken and unreadable.

Here is the transcription from the stones done by the DAR about 1950: Adolphus M. Green, d. 6-23-1869, aged 75y 7m 23d Elethear Green, wife of Adolphus, d. 2-12-1867, aged 66y 9m 10d The earliest deaths recorded in Vol. 1 of the death records occurred in April 1867 so it appears Elethear died before they started recording deaths.

Buried: Green Cemetery, Howell County, Michigan, USA

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Adolphus by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Adolphus:
