Research Notes

It is possible but unlikely that the William Green of New London, Connecticut and the William Greene of Boston, Massachusetts are the same person. The William of Connecticut is well-documented in Connecticut through the births of his children (which were before the marriage of William and Margaret in Boston[13]) and again at his death. Margaret is certainly not the mother of William's children. There is a William Green in Boston at the same time who is a more likely candidate.

His parents cannot be John Green and Mary Warren. The family resided in Salem, Essex, Massachusetts at the time that William was born in Connecticut. There was also no William named in the settlement of John's estate. [14]
