"Pastor Dies at age of 104. M.E. Rev. John Greer passed away in St. Paul, Ramsey County, MN May 26,

In the death of Rev. John Greer at the home of his daughter, Mrs. L Penrose, Merriam Park, the State of Minnesota lost another of its pioneer residents. Rev. John Greer was for many years one of the best known Methodist Episcopal minister in this section of the state and during his early residence at Inver Grove he did a great deal of missionary work among the Sioux and Chippewa Indians. He spoke their language fluently, and frequently held services in their camps. John Greer was mentioned in the book titled, "Dakota County, Its Past and Present: Geographical, Statistical and Historical" : Together with a General View of the State, Author W. H. Mitchell. Page 81 states that John Greer was a Justice of the Peace.
