"There is some information on WikiTree about my gg-grandfather, James Monroe Greer but it needs a LOT of work. The tree on familysearch is more detailed but I disagree with some of the information. James Monroe's father was Nathan Greer and Nathan's father was John Greer of this I am certain.
However, I have been looking for the parents of John Greer (b. ~1750 d. 1826) for 20 years. According to a Y DNA test, he appears to be related to the Greers of Franklin County, VA but that is where I get stuck.
When I looked at James Greer we are discussing (Greer-938), it mentions the following:
