Obituary: "Funeral services for William Dennison (Denny) Gregg, 86 who died Sunday at 9:25 a.m. at his home in Derwent, will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Derwent Methodist church with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery. The body will remain at the Scott Funeral home until time for the services. Mr. Gregg's death followed a heart attack suffered on Friday. Born on Oct. 4, 1859, in Noble County, he was a son of Col. William J. Gregg, a Civil War Officer, and Mary E. Ball Gregg. He was a retired farmer and a life long resident of the Derwent community. His wife died in 1901. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lora L. Shearer, Derwent; one son, Byron Gregg, Cleveland; one sister, Mrs. Samuel C. Groves, New Concord. One son and six brothers and sisters are deceased. HE was born in Buffalo township, Noble county, Ohio, on Oct. 4, 1859, the son of Col. William J. and Mary Ellen (Ball) Gregg."
