After a check of Family Search Pedigree Resource File, it seems that the person formerly known as William Gregg (Father of Richard Gregg) is now considered to be named John William Gregg Sr.. It is possible that a genealogist has information about Richard Gregg's father or that the correct person is now connected to Richard Gregg on Family Search. There are still numerous trees listed in the Pedigree Resource File that have the father of Richard as William Gregg which has been discontinued on WikiTree as of 2022. It also looks likely that Mary Grace James is not the mother of Richard Gregg as she was the wife of Richard's uncle William Gregg.
