Biography

Josephine Gremillion, daughter of Joseph and Marie Gremillion, was born about 1860 in Louisiana. She appeared on the census of 1 July 1870 in the home of her parents at Ward 11, Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana.^[1]

She married George Saizan about 1877.

She and George appeared on the census of 11 June 1880 at 6th Ward, Pointe Coupee, Louisiana. They were listed next to this mother.^[2] She and George appeared on the census of 12 June 1900 at Police Jury Ward 6, West Baton Rouge, Louisiana.^[3]

Josephine died on 16 March 1953 at Rougon, Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana and was buried at Chenal Cemetery and Mausoleum, Lakeland, Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana. Her memorial has a photo of her headstone shared with George, a copy of her obituary and links to those of family members.^[4]
