Biography

Sir Philip le Belward Grey-Egerton, 11th Bt. was born on 28 March 1833. And Christened on 25 Jul 1833 at Little Budworth, Cheshire [1]

He was the son of Sir Philip de Malpas Grey-Egerton, 10th Bt. and Anna Elizabeth Legh.

He married Hon. Henrietta Elizabeth Sophia Denison, daughter of Albert Denison Denison, 1st Baron Londesborough and Lady Henrietta Maria Weld Forester, on 18 July 1861. [2] They had 2 children:

  1. Sir Philip Henry Brian Grey-Egerton, 12th Bt 1864-1937
  2. Violet Edith Grey-Egerton 1870-1906

He gained the rank of Captain in the Coldstream Guards and Rifle Brigade. He gained the rank of Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel in the 4th Battalion, Cheshire Regiment. He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of (Cheshire.) He succeeded his father as the 11th Baronet Egerton, of Egerton and Oulton, co. Chester (est. 1617 in the Baronetage of England) on 5 April 1881.

He died on 1st or 2nd September 1891 aged 58[3] and is buried in Little Budworth, Cheshire.
