In Mar 1782, Major Griffith along with others wrote to Gov. Burke to request help with Loyalists led by Fanning who were committing violent acts in the neighborhood against the rebels. Eventually a truce was arranged.
He married Faithy Wall 14 Feb 1765 in Edgecombe County, North Carolina, with Thomas Merritt, Bondsman.[8][9][10] She is named as daughter Faithy Griffith in the 1778 Halifax/Edgecombe will of her father, John Wall.[11]

Roger Griffith was a witness to a deed, dated 6 Apr 1767, in Halifax, North Carolina, between his wife's father and brother (Bk 9, p.530):
John WALL to my son Jesse WALL, Halifax; 335 A in Halifax…being all the land that Giles KELLY sold to John WALL, it being one half of survey for Giles KELLY 10 Dec 1760 and all the reversion…Wit: Roger GRIFFITH, Christopher DICKEN; proved by oath of Roger GRIFFITH[12]
Between 1781-1785, he served as Chatham County Sheriff.[13]
His family is enumerated in the 1790 Chatham, North Carolina census:
Males: 3<16, 1>16; Females: 3.[14]
Death & Probate:
Roger Griffith wrote his will 28 Mar 1796 in Chatham, North Carolina. He died before May 1796 when his will was proved. His will leaves 20 Lbs to Sarah GRIFFIN, the rest divided between "my 5 children: John, Pleasant, Polly, Celia and Billy." Executors are asked to provide suitable homes for Polly and Celia, "due to their young tender age, so they are not left in a helpless situation."[15] Wife Faithy is not mentioned. She is presumed to have predeceased her husband.

William Guthrie is made guardian to the orphans of Roger Griffith, his three youngest children: William, Polly, and Celia Griffith.[17]
