Elizabeth Grimes was born 13 May 1854 in Missouri.

Elizabeth Grimes and William Grate were married about 1875, based on the 1900 census info.

10 June 1880--Indexed as "Grates", Elizabeth-25, born in Missouri and William-29, a farmer born in Ohio resided in Clay Twp., Clark Co., Missouri. Also in the home was their two year-old daughter, Daisy, born in Iowa.

04 June 1885 Nebraska State Census--Elizabeth, was 30. William L Grate, aged 34, was a school teacher. They lived in La Platte, Sarpy Co., Nebraska. Daisy, aged 7; Nellie, aged 3 and Charles, who was 8 months old, having been born the past OCT also lived in the home.

Based on the ages and POBs of the Grate children in the 1900 census, The family had lived in Nebraska about 1883-1888.

09 June 1900-- Lizzie "Grates," was 46, born MAY 1854 in Missouri and had given birth to 8 children/6 still living. Her Husband of 25 years, William, aged 51, worked as a station agent in Colfax Twp, Blythedale village, Harrison Co., Missouri. Daughter, Daisy Brenizer, was widowed and 22 years old. Her daughter, Gladdis I Brenizer, aged 1, b. in MO, also lived with them. Other children in the household: Nelly-17, born JAN 1883 in Missouri; Alvin G.-15, born OCT 1884 in Nebraska; Ray-13, b. DEC 1886 in Nebraska; Grace-11, b. JAN 1889 in Nebraska and Thomas, aged 9, born OCT 1890 in Missouri.

She passed away 16 Apr 1914, at the age of 59, in Foster Co., North Dakota. BURIAL Foster Cemetery New Hampton, Harrison County, Missouri,
