Henry Grogan was born about 1748 in Kings Ireland. Henry married Mary Edwards in 1766.[1]
In 1780 while Rockingham County, NC was still part of Guilford County, Henry received a Grant from the State of NC for 200 acres on both sides of Buffaloe Creek of Matrimony Creek[2] which he later sold to William Odelle.
As a resident of Guilford County, NC, Henry Grogan served in a company of Light Horse under Capt. Richard Vernon in Oct 1781.

In the 1800 census, Henry was in Salisbury, Rockingham, North Carolina.[4]
In the 1820 census, Henry was in Rockingham, North Carolina, United States.[5]

Research Dispute
I Sonia (Nance) Roberts dispute parents attached. Henry's mother Mary (if that is her name) couldn't have died in 1800 Henry Co. VA as she is most likely the Mary Grogan on the 1800 Rockingham Co. NC[8] living next door to Henry Grogan and his wife. This Mary Grogan most likely is also the same Mary Grogan on the 1790 Rockingham Co. NC census[9]
IMPORTANT NOTE: In the same place as birth "Kings County, Offaly, Ireland" noted for the above Henry Grogan and his wife Mary Edwards (which I Sonia (Nance) Roberts disagree with for THIS Henry Grogan of Rockingham Co. NC!), there is a Henry and Mary Grogan the right age to be them in 1821 Clashroe, Roscumroe, Kings (Offaly), Ireland[10]
