Biography

Hermann was born in 1826 in Prussia. He was the son of Joseph Theodor Grona.

Hermann married Karolina Friederike Auguste Wulst in 1857 in Straach, Wittenberg, Sachsen, Preußen, Deutschland.^[1] The two would later immigrate to America and settle in Gillespie County, Texas.

They can be seen with their children on the 1870 US Census in the Pedernales Settlement in Gillespie County where Herm was a farmer.^[2] There were at least 10 children belonging to the couple; Max,^[3] Ernst, Paul,^[4] Anna,^[5] Oswald,^[6] August Hermann,^[7] Albert,^[8] Felix,^[9] Emma^[10] & Richard.

Hermann passed away on July 5th, 1894 at 67 years old. He was laid to rest in the Der Stadt Friedhof Cemetery in Fredericksburg, Gillespie County, Texas.^[11]
