Walter Ernest "Wally" Grout took his first breath on 20 April 1873 at Teebar, Queensland, Australia. He was the seventh child of eleven to be born to parents James Edward "Edward" Grout and his wife Caroline Frances Abel. [1][2]
On 17 November 1900, he sustained a painful injury to his wrist while trying to avoid a charging beast at Musket Flat, Queensland, near Maryborough. [3]
Walter Ernest Grout entered the holy state of matrimony in 1896 when he married Clara Olive Hohensee in Queensland. [4]
Walter Grout's occupation was as a timbergetter, and his work took him to many different locations to live. In 1912, he and his family lived at Harlin, Queensland. [5]
In 1917, he participated in a Sports Day held in nearby Blackbutt, Queensland, for adults and children. [6]
It was in July 1950, that his beloved wife, Clara Olive, passed away at Marsden Street, Clayfield in Brisbane, Queensland. [7][8]
Walter Ernest Grout passed away within a year of his wife's death, on 4 February 1951 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, at the age of 77 years. [9][10]
His funeral and cremation was held on 6 February 1951 in Brisbane, Queensland. [11]

MUSKET FLAT
On Saturday morning last, Mr. Walter Grout was charged by a beast (not the bull) and in trying to avoid the impact slipped and fell, the animal going over him. He sustained a painful injury to the wrist, which has quite disabled the arm. I am sorry to say the latest report of his condition is not a very favourable one.

BLACKBUTT SPORTS
BLACKBUTT, January 3.
A successful day's sports were held on the Recreation Ground on New Year's Day. The gathering was organised by the committee of the Blackbutt Public Hall, and Mr. T. Ellis made an efficient secretary. The Red Cross Society conducted the refreshment booth.
