Biography

Eunice Grundy was born in 1907 in St Helens. She was the eldest child of Thomas Grundy and Mary Jane (Leather) Grundy. Her father was a glass worker. In 1911, her family had a domestic servant to help with the housework, and a 60-year-old female boarder from Worcestershire, who was a school caretaker.

Eunice married Roger Unsworth Wakefield on April 6th 1929 at Parr Mount Holy Trinity church in St Helens (Anglican).

Roger died in 1978 at the age of 77, and was buried September 20th in a family grave at St Helens Cemetery. Eunice died in 1983 aged 76, and was buried October 31st in the same grave.
