Godfrey Grünzweig performed Patriotic Service in Pennsylvania in the American Revolution.
He arrived in Philadelphia on the ship Leslie, sailing from Rotterdam with a stop in Cowes, England, arriving in Philadelphia on October 7, 1749.[1] On 13 May 1752 he married Maria "Mary" Pettit. On 30 May 1776, he was elected to the Committee of Correspondence for Chestnuthill Township.[2]. Three sons, David, Henry, and Godfrey Jr. served in the Northampton County militia during the Revolutionary War.
