Notes
In October 1774, Abel, his 3 brothers, his brother-in-law David Wooster, his step-mother Sarah, and others petitioned the general assembly to be allowed to set up their own school district west of the twelve mile stake in Waterbury, which was granted. (CCR 14:377) This would be the Gunntown area.
They had one daughter, Sarah, b. 25 Sept 1757 in Derby (Derby LR6:441). I have not found further information on this couple. There were many Abel Gunns to sort out in Waterbury and Derby.
