Biography

Alfred Gunter was born in 1873. His mother's maiden surname was Taylor. [1]

In 1897, Alfred married Minnie Cockerton. The marriage was registered in West Ham, Essex. [2]

Alfred was a carpenter.

In 1901, Alfred and his wife were residing in St Martin's Avenue, West Ham, Essex. The couple had two children in the home. At the time, Alfred was 28-years-old. [3]

He came to New Zealand to work on the Onehunga Bridge. His wife (Minnie) & 2 sons (Edgar & Stanley) came to New Zealand when Stanley was 6 months old. Alfred & Minnie had another son, Harold, in New Zealand.

Alfred passed away about 1958.
