David Haggard, the second son of Rev. Henry Haggard, was born in Albemarle county, Virginia, about the year 1767. He married Millie Elkins. He came to Clark county, Kentucky, about 1790 and settled twelve miles southeast of Winchester. He was a man of energy, thrift and influence; raised a family of ten children: Polly, Lucy, Sally, Ezekiel E., Zachariah E., John F., Robert E., Nancy, Julia, Noah G., David J., Malissa M., Elizabeth D.
