Thomas Haines was born in New Jersey in 1700. He was the son of Thomas Haines and Elizabeth Austin.
Thomas lived and farmed in Chesterfield Township, Burlington County, New Jersey. Thomas Haines (Thomas [2], Richard [1]) farmer, of Chesterfield Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey. Thomas was also civic-minded. He served a term as constable of Chesterfield and as Overseer of the Poor, the administer of aide to the poor.
In 1726, under the care of the Burlington Monthly Meeting, Thomas married Rebecca Foster. Rebecca was the daughter of William and Mary Foster. Their children were:
Thomas died in Chesterfield, New Jersey in 1767. His will was dated August 27, 1762, and was probated May 2, 1767."
