Biography

William was born in Berlin, New York on November 20, 1844. He was the son of Jabish Hakes (1799-1876) and Hannah Nancy Potter (1810-1892), one of 10 children.

He married Louisa E Brock, about 1868, in Berlin, New York. They had 14 children, one died in infancy. William supported his large family working as a farmer.

He passed away March 23, 1899, at 45 years old, in Berlin where he had always lived.
