Biography
Florence came to Rhodesia with the Mc Queens (The first Administrator they had no Governor in those days.They sailed to Beira where they were told they would travel by train to Salisbury. There was no train so they had to 'trek' she maintained that she walked almost the whole way.
Went on honeymoon to Marandellas in Rhodesia

First white woman to live in Gatooma died at 81 in Salisbury. Came to Rhodesia in 1901 and got married in 1903 to Algernon Chambers who went to Rhodesia as an 1893 pioneer. Raymond their son was the first white baby born in Gatooma a fact noted by the Prince of Wales. On one of her trips to the UK she was presented to King George V,Queen Mary and the Princess Royal. Her husband died early in world war 2
from her obituary in the Rhodesia Herald newspaper
