William Nathan HALL was born in 1872 in Kentucky.

Parents: A tree at Ancestry stated he was the son of Joseph D. HALL and Rebecca E. WARREN, but did not give the source of that information.

Possible match based upon the tree at ancestry found in the 1880 U. S. census record of Green County, Kentucky of a William HALL, age 8 years, in the household of his father, J. D. HALL whose wife of record was listed as "Becky HALL".^[1]

Note: I am not sure on the date of death for this individual. His wife in 1900 U. S. Census record of Magisterial District 2, Salome, Taylor County, Kentucky is listed as a widow.^[2]

If this is correct then William Nathan HALL was probably married for the first time sometime between 1885 and 1900. The place of his first marriage and the name of his first wife is unknown. Marriage Certificate stated that the marriage was to occur at the bride's residence. Later in the document the place of marriage was given as Louis UNDERWOOD's. The surety of the marriage bond was L. J. UNDERWOOD. It is believed that Louis J. UNDERWOOD was the father of the bride.

Witnesses listed on the marriage certificate were R. H. JOHNSON and Jno. H. CHANEY.

The following information was given by R. Metcalf on the original submission: "Their witness was Rosa M. Waltman." however this individual was no listed on the marriage bond or certificate.

In 1910 William and Ida lived in a rented house at 231 Carlisle Ave. Lexington, KT. They had three children: Esther, Howard, and Hanna. William was an electrician for the Railway.

In 1920, the family lived in a rented home at 347 Ave. 21, Los Angeles, CA. William was and electrician for the Electric Co. Ida was a wrapper in a bakery. Daughter Esther was a telephone company operator, daughter Hanna was a messenger for a department store. Other children: Howard, Ida, and Raymond. All the kids were n school except Esther ( who would marry later that year). They all could read and write.

William Nathan HALL died on 19 September 1958 at his home in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California.

William Nathan Hall, a native of Kentucky, had lived in California for 48 years, most recently at 4252 Lockhart St. (Los Angeles). William had worked for many years as an SCE Lineman. He was survived by three daughters and two sons. ^[4]

William Nathan Hall is buried with his wife at Inglewood Park Cemetery, Inglewood, California. His grave marker is engraved: Beloved Husband and Father William N. HALL (1873 - 1958). William was the son of Joseph D. Hall (1845-1936). He married Ida Louise Underwood on 25 Dec. 1900 in Taylor, Kentucky. ^[5]
