George was born on 21 Nov 1858, the date of his baptism. He is the son of Richard Hall and Louisa Mant. It would seem that he probably died young as not record of him can be found after the 1861 UK census, eg: he does not appear with other members of the family in the 1871 census, See: https://www.findmypast.com/transcript?id=GBC%2F1871%2F0010858448.)
(In his entry for George John Lewis Hall on Geneanet, David Richards lists Amelia Raymond as his wife, but the record for the marriage of Amelia Raymond to 'George L Hall' in Massachusetts in 1881 says that he is a 19 year old box maker, born in Vermont with parents named Louis and Mary. See FamilySearch: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NWB7-L2Y. This cannot therefore be the same George Hall as his age and parentage are incorrect. The confusion probably arises from George and Amelia Hall having a son called Richard Mant Hall, 'Mant being the name used by George John Lewis Hall's parents, Richard and Louisa Hall as third name for his older brother Richard Henry Mant Hall, being the maiden name of his mother Louisa Maria Hall nee Mant. Richard Mant was the name of a prominent Irish bishop, well known in the first half of the 19th Century. Seehttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Mant.)
