Charles was born in 1859, the son of Charles Henry Hall (bef.1832-1884) and Elizabeth Letitia Cavanagh (1832-1887).

He was baptised at Christ Church, South Yarra, on 9 Oct 1859. ^[1]

In 1884 he married Harriet Lucy Hill (1851-1937). ^[2] Hs name was recordes as "Charles Richard Lean Hall."

They had 3 children:—

Charles Robert (1885)

Dora (1887-1962)

Emmeline Frances (1890-1972).

Charles passed away in 1925, aged 66 [66y 5m 26d]. No death record has been found.

HALL.—On the 25th October, at his residence, 3 Barkly-avenue, Malvern, Charles Richard Hanover, dearly loved husband of Harriet Lucy, and father of Charles, Dora, and Emmeline (Mrs. Hallows Payne, England). (Interred on the 26th October.)

He was buried on 26th October 1925 in Brighton Cemetery, Caulfield South ^[4]
