Killed at the Battle of Julesburg
Note Concerning Burial
The soldiers who fell at the Battle of Julesburg were originally buried at what was at the time Fort Rankin (later Fort Sedgwick). This frontier fort was rather short lived and when it was abandoned by the Army the post cemetery burials were moved to the cemetery at Fort McPherson, Nebraska (now Fort McPherson National Cemetery). Unfortunately it appears that the burials from Fort Sedgwick were not identified and it is very likely that all of the soldiers who were killed at the Battle of Julesburg now have an "Unknown Soldier" stone marking their final resting place at Fort McPherson National Cemetery.
