Biography

Henry S. Hallman was born in 1859. He passed away at the age of 73 on 12 Oct 1932 in Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada. ^[1]

Henry S Hallman and Maria Rosenberger married on 18 Jan 1881 in Wilmot, Ontario. He was 21 years old at the time and she was 19. Maria was born around 1862 and she was the daughter of Christian and Hannah Rosenberger ^[2]

Rev. Henry S. Hallman was the son of Wendell Hallman and Nancy Schlichter. The following is a quote from their family history, which was written by him in 1906: ^[3]

Rev. Henry S. Hallman was born August 5th, 1859. In 1881, he entered the ministry of the MBC Church. In October, 1888, the General Conference of that body held in Berlin, Ontario, had him appointed Editor of the Gospel Banner, a position he still holds. He is married to Maria Rosenberger and has a family of nine children. They reside in Berlin, Ontario, where he is engaged in the publishing business. Children:

1. Manilla was born March 2nd, 1882. She is at home with her parents and is in her father's office. (died 2 Aug 1920)
2. Abner was born October 7th, 1883. He is not married and resides near Balgonie, Sask., where he is teaching school. (died 16 Jun 1945)
3. N. Ellen was born July 31st, 1887. She is at home with her parents.
4. Lorne was born September 13th, 1889. He is at home with his parents and is a typographical operator.
5. Annetta was born Sept. 12th, 1892.
6. Grace I. was born May 23rd, 1896. (married Harvey M Hutchings on 4 Sep 1924)
7. A. Myrtle was born August 20th, 1898. (married Gordon John Krupp on 3 Sep 1921)
8. W. Howard was born March 18th, 1901 (married Ruth Alexandra Clemens on 4 Sep 1925)
9. Frances Ruth was born February 5th, 1903.
