Biography of George Hamilton
According to the Death Certificate of George Hamilton's son, Phillip Hobough Hamilton, George Hamilton was born in Scotland. Looking at the 1850 US Census, George lists that he came from England. George is listed as being 57 in 1850, so this sets his birthdate as being 1793. He is also listed as a laborer. The family is living in Patton township, in Allegheny County, PA. George is married to Mary "Martha" Hobough. The children are listed as George, age 22; Mary, age 10; Martha age 7; and Phillip, age 12. After the 1850 Census, I have not been able to locate any other reference to George.
