Research Notes
How is Cato (born 1815 South Carolina) related to Columbus Hamilton (born 1856 Buncombe County, North Carolina)? Clara, the wife of Columbus, states in a deposition the name of her husband's father was Dick and "the people who owned him was the Hamiltons." Could Cato be an uncle or cousin of Columbus?
