25. SIMEON, b. 1770, in B. His father deeded land in Calais, Vt., to him in Jan., 1790; he m. ABIGAIL ELIZABETH HAMILTON, no date when. Their only child, Nathan, b. May 4, 1794; and his mother d. April 4, 1795. Mass. records show that Simeon must have gone to Vt. early in 1790. Before me is part of a letter, said to have been written to him by his father, beginning—"Brookfield may 30, 1790, loving son—I hear you have buried your wife." I can only explain the above dates by supposing the last one should be 1795. His second wife was SUSANNAH BARNES, b. 1774, m. 1796, d June 8, 1818, [consequently] m. and d. in Calais. Third he m. MRS. BETSY DAVIS b. 1788, d. Oct . 30, 1876, in [Calais]. Hiram K. says—"Simeon was a quaint old continental style of a man, he gave names to the small villages of [Calais] " He d. of paralysis Nov. 24, 1847, in [Calais]. Eight ch. [1]
