Henry John Hamilton was born in Aug. 1867[1] at New York, USA.[2] He appeared on the census of 20 Aug. 1870 in the household of his step-father, William Hill and his mother, Phebe (Francisco) (Hamilton) Hill, at Fremont, Sullivan Co., New York. [3] He appeared on the census of 16 June 1875 in the household of William and Phebe at Fremont, Sullivan County, New York.[4] He appeared on the census of 17 June 1880 in the household of William and Phebe at Fremont, Sullivan Co., New York.[5]
He married Emma Skinner[6], daughter of George Skinner and Katherine (Murray) Skinner, circa 1894. Emma died in 1899.
He was a clerk for general merchandise when he appeared on the census of 5 June 1900 at Hancock, Delaware County, New York. [2] He was a manager in a general store when he appeared on the census of 21 April 1910 at Hancock, Delaware County, New York. He was a boarder in the Peake home in both 1900 and 1910.[7]
He died in 1913 at Delaware County, New York and was buried at East Branch Cemetery, Hancock, Delaware County, New York. HIs memorial has a photo of his headstone shared with his wife and a child.[6][8]
