Hancock-4208 and Hancock-4172 appear to represent the same person because: Later research which contributed to the 2004-2006 revision of Adventurers of Purse & Person has refuted J. Rives Chiles and William D. Ligon's understanding of this family. The merged profile for Mary (Hancock) Cobbs should be the daughter of Samuel (Hancock-558) and Johanna (Hancock-2237). The disparity in birth dates is due to guesswork in order to make her fit chronologically into one of the two families. Samuel and Elizabeth (Jameson) Hancock had no known daughter named Mary. Please accept this merge request.
