Biography

Harriet was born about 1819. She was baptised on 2 September 1819 at Shepshed, daughter of Joseph and Alm(e)y Han(d)ford.

Edward Bottomore (bachelor of full age, a framework knitter) of Chapel Street, Sheepshed, son of Edward Bottomore (framework knitter) married Harriet Handford (spinster of full age, a framework knitter) of Chapel Street, Sheepshed, daughter of Joseph Handford (shoemaker) at the parish church in Sheepshed, Leicestershire on 19th October 1840. Witnesses were Joseph Handford who signed, and Ann Handford, who made her mark. J H Hamilton, Vicar, conducted the marriage. ^[1][2]

She passed away in 1896, and was buried at Shortland Cemetery in Thames, Waikato.
