Birth

The ancestry of Nathan Hanscom is unknown. The 1850 Census shows him as 62 years old, born in Maine.^[1] His age at his death from his gravestone computes to a birth date in October 1787.^[2]

Marriage

Nathan Hansom married Sarah Strout. The death record of George W. Hanscom names his parents as Nathan Hanscom and Sarah Strout.^[3]

Death

In 1850, Nathan Hanscom was living at Minot, Maine, at the age of 62, with his wife Sally, 58, and their sons Nathan, 22, and Sullivan, 12.^[1] The gravestone of Nathan Hanscom at the Old Cemetery in Mechanic Falls, Maine, says that he died on 28 Feb 1860 at the age of 72 years, 4 months.^[2][4]
