Goodwife Karin here at Backen, about 80 years old, was buried 24 November 1686.[1] If this is the death record of Karin Hansdotter (which is probable, but not absolutely certain) her age at death is exaggerated. Dead at 80, she would have been born in 1606 - but this would stretch the span to the birth of the youngest sister in 1632 a bit too far. So 1616 is a compromise, making her married at 24 and having her last child at 40.
Her marriage, however, is certain: Olof Hising's hammersmith Johan Hansson and Karin Hansdotter from Ångsjön married 25 July 1640.[2][3]
In the first household record for Skinnskatteberg, started in 1663, we find Hising's smith Johan Hansson with wife Karin and sons Johan, Hans, Olof and Henrik. Henrik is probably the youngest - he has been squeezed in later (when he had learnt to read). There is a reference to Henrik's baptism date in 1656.[4]
Ångsjö-Johan and his wife Karin are still present among the smiths on Skinnskattebergs Backa in the second (undated) installment of the first household record for Skinnskatteberg.[5] This would fit with the death record above.
