Conduct Rites Here For Mrs. Rogers; Dies Thursday The Homer Enterprise October 26 1946 Mrs. Prudence Rogers, 66, died at 8:30 a. m. last Thursday in her home. She became ill Wednesday evening and died the next morning as a result of a heart attack. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p. m. Sunday in the Scott funeral home. Rev. B. M. Petty of the Methodist church officiated and burial was in G. A. R. cemetery. Following is Mrs. Rogers' obituary: "Prudence Hardin, daughter of George A. and Lucy L. Hardin, was born near Homer, Ill., Oct 22, 1880, and died at her home in Homer Oct. 24, 1946, at the age of 66 years. Death came as the result of a heart attack. "In 1903 she was married to David Rogers. To this union two children were born. "Mrs. Rogers has spent her entire life in and near Homer. Surviving are Mr. Rogers, a daughter, Irene, at home; a son, Raymond, his wife and son, David, of Rockford, Ill.; a brother, Milton S. Hardin, and a sister, Mrs. Clarence Ellis, both of Homer. One brother, Thomas, preceded her in death." Relatives from out-of-town attending the funeral were Mrs. Robert Pugh, Mr. Loren Walker, Mrs. Mildred Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. William Wright and Mrs. John Watson, all of Danville, and Mr. and Mrs. William Johns, Urbana.
