Research Notes
Possible children christened in Prestwich with father James and residence Whitefield (from http://www.lan-opc.org.uk/) mother Elizabeth
4 Aug 1727 Ann , weaver
8 Jun 1731 Phoebe , weaver
2 Feb 1734 Ralph , weaver
18 Jun 1738 Elizabeth , weaver
As above but no mother recorded, residence as stated:
29 Sep 1742 Adam, Thatch leach, farmer
29 May 1746 Sarah, Unsworth, weaver
21 Sep 1749 Joshua, Whitefield, weaver
Mother Ann, residence Prestwich:
5 Jan 1752 Robert, weaver
1 May 1754 Ann, weaver
Most likely, the last three are children of James Hardman and Ann Diggle, resident in Whitefield when they married in 1749. The James Hardman who married Anne Siddal was from Radcliffe, Ann Siddal from Prestwich, and neither has any obvious connection to Whitefield.
The children born to James and Elizabeth christened from 1727 to 1738 are probably children of the James Hardman who married Alisabath Gregary in Radcliffe in 1726 (the marriage record states he was from Prestwich)

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with James by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with James:
