Sydney Edward Earle Hardwick was born on 22 May 1892 at Perth, Western Australia, Australia. He was the son of William Hardwick and Minnie Cross.
Sydney married Martha Ramplin in 1915 in Perth, Western Australia, Australia. His wife, Martha, died in 1922.

HARDWICK-PYKE.
The marriage, of Miss Vera Pyke, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Pyke, of York, and Mr. S. E. E. Hardwick, second son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Hardwick, also of York, took place at Wesley Church, York, on March 18. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. Robins, assisted by the Rev. S. Wright (brother-in-law of the bride). The service was choral, the bride's sister (Mrs. R. Porter) presiding at the organ. Members of the local orchestra, of which the bride and bridegroom are members, assisted. The bride, who was given away by her brother Mr. Harry Pyke was becomingly attired in cream georgette trimmed with satin. She wore a wreath and veil and carried a bouquet of white carnations and fern. Miss Myrtle Wright attended the bride as bridesmaid, and wore a dress of pale blue georgette embroidered with white silk. She carried a bouquet of old gold roses. The bridegroom was supported by his brother, Mr. V. Hardwick, as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held in Wesley Hall, which together with the church had been beautifully decorated by friends of the bride. Mrs. Pyke wore a dress of black grenadine trimmed with satin, and black hat, while the bridegroom's mother was dressed in black charbieuse and black hat. They both carried bouquets of scarlet roses and fern. Mrs R. Porter wore a dress of putty and coral with hat to match; Mrs. S. Wright, cream jersey silk and black hat; Mrs. Harry Pyke, apple green georgette, with hat to match; Mrs. Bert Pyke, mauve dress and hat to match. The happy couple motored to Perth, enroute to the Eastern States, where the honeymoon is being spent, the bride travelling in a three-piece costume of grey tricotine and small hat.
Sydney died in 1951, aged 58 years, in York, Western Australia, Australia.
He was buried at York Cemetery, York, Western Australia (with his 1st wife, Martha)
