Biography
Nancy Hardy was born August 5, 1819[1] or 22[2], the daughter of John Hardy and Elizabeth Arnold of Allendale, Shelburne County
On November 2, 1843, she married James Harlow, the son of James Harlow and Olivia Chadsey of Sable River, Nova Scotia[3], and they had children, including:
- William Henry Harlow (1844 – 1904), who married Lavinia G. Dunlop[4]
- Susan Harlow (1845 – 1940), who married Albert Melvin[5]
- Stephen Harlow (1847 – 1903, who married Mary Ellen Fox[6]
- Allison Harlow (1849 – 1877)
- Cornelius Harlow (1851 – 1861)
- James Harlow (1853 – 1861)
- Winslow Locke Harlow (1855 – 1925), who married Alemeth Cohoon Lohnes[7]
- Augusta Harlow (1857 – 1861)
- Lyman Harlow (1861 – 1861)
- James Harlow (1863 – 1918), who married Hannah Freeman Allen
Nancy died Feb. 24, 1897, and is buried on the Hillside Cemetery in Sable River[1]
