Biography

Joshua Harlan, the son Aaron Harlan and Elizabeth "Betty" Stewart, was born 12 February 1781, Chatham, North Carolina. He died 26 March 1826, Union, Indiana.

Joshua married Sarah Word, the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Word.

Joshua was a farmer, a natural mechanic, and knife maker. He invented the first Daymond plow, which was sold in 1825.

Joshua Harlan is No. 706 in the Harlan Book
