Biography

Birth

Persia Harmon was born at Livermore, Maine, on 9 Jul 1831, the son of Nathaniel Harmon and Hannah (Goding) Harmon.^[1]

Civil War Service

During the American Civil War, Persia Harmon served in the Union Army, in Company C of the 18th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment, and he received a pension from Veterans Administration.^[2][3]

Marriages

1. Persia Harmon married Lydia Perry Blackwell at Boston, Massachusetts, on 29 Nov 1854.^[4][5]
2. The widower Persia B. Harmon, 62, married the twice-widowed Sarah B. (Ellis) (Clark) Maxim, 59, at Sandwich, Massachusetts, on 11 Jul 1893.^[6]

Death

Persia B. Harmon died from valvular disease of the heart, complicated by "exposure to cold and wet," at Bourne, Massachusetts, on 14 Nov 1912, with his age at his death recorded as 81 years, 4 months, 5 days.^[7][8]
