Daughter of Col. Robert Harris and Mary Ann Rogers, the family immigrated, from Ireland to the Colonies about 1746 (after the death of Mary Ann Rogers) and initially settled in Pennsylvania.
Margaret Harris married Col William McAlevy in 1758 in Carlisle, Cumberland, Pennsylvania.
