William Harris, son of Richard Harris & Anne, was christened on 28 July 1799 in Downton, Wiltshire, England.[1]
William Harris married Maria Reynolds on 14 July 1827 in Downton, Wiltshire, England.[2]
Together with his wife Maria and three children (Mary Ann, Richard and Shadrack), William Harris arrived aboard the Woodbridge on 15 September 1838. He was described as a gardener from Downton in Wiltshire, the son of Richard Harris and Anne Hobbs, and had embarked on 5 May 1838. He was described as being in very good health, able to read and write, and a Protestant. [3]
Seven more children were born into one of the earliest pioneer families in the Wollombi district.
