Biography

William Harrison was born in the Colony of Victoria (1851-1900)

William was born on July 4, 1893 in Sebastapol, Victoria, near Ballarat. ^[1]

Married to Rose in 1915 and was employed as a Railway worker.

William served in the Australian Army in the first World War with the 38th Battalion. Private 1739. Enlisted May 3, 1916 [22 years]. Unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A54 Runic on 20 June 1916. Returned to Australia 23 January 1919 and was discharged.

In the 1930s William left his family to live interstate in Sydney. He family were unsuccessful in contacting him. He later re-married, possibly whilst still married to Rose. It is uncertain but believe that in 1941 he married Emily Olive Woodward.

He passed away October 7, 1942 [49 years] from cancer. He is buried in the Sydney War Cemetery at Rookwood, New South Wales. ^[2]
